beginning the layering in process, waiting for each layer to dry before adding another, from emerald green, light green, sap green, olive green, burnt umber, transparent burnt sienna, turquoise, lemon yellow, cool grey, payne's grey - slowly building up the images...

still need to detail and add building top, but here is the rest of the grisaille if the gardens... now to detail, then color the whole of the painting, at long last...

finally have a sketch to use for that last spot in the painting, tho
still need to redo the roof, and the figure that is seen thru the ring
that entrances the garden (which is why it is blank )...
that is a Japanese maple in the first part of the garden, and the stone and walking stones make for the second part, as well as implying more offstage... once get the roof squared away, will transfer this and ink, and then, finally, can begin coloring the painting, hopefully before the end of this week...... the figure will be added, along with the rest of that spot behind her, when get one small enough to use - which ought to be soon, but even if delayed, there is all the rest of the painting to attend to in coloring...
