slowly going, but moving along - much of the rock is with diluting the antelope ink, and yes sopping up excess when put too much water on [for this, the painting is on the drafting table, turned sideways so the left side is slightly downwards, as the table is slightly tilted - and am using the larger nib for this], and am in effect using the nib as if a brush, spreading the diluted ink over greater territory, yet trying to keep it so the detail comes thru...
am working my way across the bottom foreground to the left end - the vegetation is mostly done, just florals to be added, and another layering of color over the part previously done, sharpening the 'rocky'ness...

after coating the grisaille with a gloss medium, am using F W Acrylic Flesh color ink for the lit face, and antelope brown for the shade, overlapping the edge to round it...
