Finally another photo to show update - and hope in another couple of days, can get the rest of the sky done, and move on to the rest of the painting....  note, too, some of the window floral has been colored as well - light green and sap green...  bloom dots will come later...

Sorry is taking so long a time between updates, but am trying as much as possible to keep to the fine point stippling, which is making decent photos hard to do with the camera I have...  but will see if can have a visual later today at least of the sky progress [which is across the board at the top and now working its way down the left side...

A wee bit more on the sky, and added coloring [antelope brown] to another building - the seeming coloring on lower right is from the reading lamp, not part of the rendering...

 the chimney is red earth and antelope brown, and the building is antelope brown...  using the same fine point crow quill as in doing the sky........

been having problems getting the photo to show clearly the tiny dots used in getting the sky - but this at least shows some of the progress.. am using processed cyan and the very stiff and fine crow quill nib...

Finally back to working on this, again, and getting in the boats now, along with further work on the building walls...

 Because of having problems with "Morals" in thinking in terms of light out of darkness, have put it aside for awhile and am on this, a 30"x20" colored ink on foamboard painting...

 am using crow quill nibs and prussian blue acrylic ink for the grisaille...

 Am beginning an experiment - am going to try to imitate scratchboard and do a rendering in white acrylic ink on black foamboard...  It is to be a still life of shoulder bags...  the board is 40"x32", tho the finished work may have the board trimmed some - will see...  it will be a slow working, as am adding light from darkness, so to speak, rather than the usual forming from the dark, and this means an inversion of how to apply - but think as get used to it, will improve on the amount of progress at a time...

when more is done, a better, non-glaring, photo will be taken...

and am back at this, having been interrupted a few times with other matters, including getting my old pc back, with the photos, but without, for now, the documents and bookmarks - so been spending time trying to remember as many of the latter as can...

as can be guessed, this is actually being worked on upside down, not as seen here...  antelope brown with crow quill nib...

all but the back wall is now done - scarlet on the floral and berries, antelope brown on the shelf and under, white added to floral, and emerald green layered over the sap green on the xmas cactus leaves... the holly leaves remain just sap green...

having finally finished the bowl, am in the midst of glazing the colors - raw sienna and sepia on the stick, and emerald green on the leaves... other overlays will be added after these dry...

 Temple Terrace Arts Festival last weekend...  no sales, but plenty of interest....

 New work in progress - this being an experiment of using the acrylic paint as the medium instead of the acrylic inks, but still using the pens and nibs...  the color is pthalo blue...

decided to just color the wood grain using the antelope brown, letting the differential of contrast bring it all out yet not distracting from the 'main event'.........

Having finished the 'monster' painting, FUGUE, have, between catching up on my reading, resumed rendering, this time a small one of 14"x11"...  here shows a work in progress on several fronts - the prussian blue grisaille, red earth and antelope brown for the under part of the support, flesh [ yes, is the name on the  FW acrylic ink label] and antelope brown for the stone, light green and emerald green on the stem, with sepia on the shade part and into the woody area of the plant...

"Protinuousy"

a discovery of a 'lost' work of many years ago brings forth this... 24"x18" pen and ink on primed pad canvas...

and FUGUE is finished...  48"x96", 36"x96" painted area, black acrylic ink on primed roll canvas...

 Because it took so long getting the bamboo done, because of the twists and such of the thicket, am adding a 'post-next-to-the-last' update...

 here is the close-up of the thicket, showing how complex it is...

and here is the rest of the main painting just finished...  as soon as the ink is dry, will cut the 9 feet of canvas from the roll, and then begin doing the birds and wired above - the last bit to the work...

Next-to-the-last update on this, hopefully, as the next one should be the finished one...  ran out of ink Friday so had to wait until today to get another bottle...  so now can move on to finishing detailing the bamboo [seen left], and the birds and wires above...

Closing in - one can see the vegetation on the left... once reach that, then go over the unfinished veggies, then get the wires and birds........  and be done.
